Question

Is it true that just because a tv is plugged in, it still uses electricity even though it may be turned off?

Answer

Yes, it uses very little electricity, but still uses electricity to keep the sensor powered that detects when you hit quotpowerquot on the remote control. That and no electric switch is perfect. Even if theres a built in chip that tells the TV to be quotoffquot, there will still be some power lost through leakage current.brbrBut its not as bad as when this technology first came out, so dont worry about it.
